For Karine Chevallier, perfume needs passion and time.
« A passion that led me to study chemistry and in 1993 I entered ISIPCA, then the unique perfumery school. As soon as I graduated I discovered that creating a perfume deserves the patience of the years : understanding raw materials, the art of blending, listening, luck, faith and encounters…

In 1996, I joined as a junior perfumer a prestigious fragrance company, where I was trained by Mark Buxton. There I learnt my artcraft in the memory of my first perfume teacher : the french perfumer Jean-François Blayn, himself being a disciple of M. Edmond Roudnitska.

It is only in 2000 after having completed a Master Degree in Luxury, and after an experience within Guerlain, that I finally understood what was a perfume : a dream in between artcraft and art, a product of matter and wonder, an history of memories and universal luxury.

In, 2001, I became the head manager of the parisian department of a fragrance company homebased in Grasse, until 2005 when i decided to create my own company : Olfactive Design

The perfume

PERFUMERY IS A DYNAMIC ART

From odors comes the olfactive form. The perfect mix of several olfactive forms makes a unique structure, original and harmonious : a perfume. The forms mingles, in the air, on a skin, or simply according to weather changes. They thus define a volume, a texture, a touch.

« Odors are the material of a perfume. Natural or not, fragrant raw materials are the cornerstone of perfume » Edmond Roudnitska

LESS IS MORE

Simplicity, rigour, elegance, are inherent to the most essential perfumes, just as for Mies Van der Rohe architecture. A perfume must be shaped by culture, technic, painting, light, a chat between different Ages, an exact science of the « happening » which signs the soul of fragrance.

« Painting is the art of combining effects, i.e. of establishing relationships between colours, contours and planes. » Paul Cezanne

Creation

AN ARTISTIC APPROACH IN A COMMERCIAL LOGIC

Olfactive Design drives you through all the steps of your project : from the creation of your perfume to its production, whatever your field of activity:

  • A skin perfume that seduces, moves, dresses…
  • A home fragrance that transports, inhabits, decorates…
  • A fragrance for cosmetics, revealing the product claim
  • An olfactory logo that embodies your brand image

Production

AN EFFICIENT AND FLEXIBLE PRODUCTION TOOL

The manufacture of concentrates is under exclusive contract to the company Accords et Parfums, which shares in Cabris (06), a production tool as mythical as it is qualitative with the company Art et Parfum created by Mr Edmond Roudnitska.

This partnership guarantees irreproachable quality and traceability: quality control (olfactory, GC-MS, and analyses) is carried out on each raw material received and on each numbered batch produced.

Before being sent to you, compliance with the legislation governing our industry is checked by our manager, a graduate in toxicology
